Modified Bitumen

Modified Bitumen sheet membranes have been in use since the mid 1970’s. These membranes are resistant to foot traffic and punctures and are typically installed in multiple layers, although single membranes are common as well. These membranes are available in a wide variety of colors and can be mineral or smooth surfaced. This type of material has “modifiers” that gives the material a rubbery quality to make it more durable. Depending on type, this material can be torched-down, bonded with hot or cold asphalt, or self adhered. We offer warranty systems from 10 to 20 years with other warranty options upon request.

Firestone SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems combine exceptional elongation and fatigue resistance properties with the strength of a glass-reinforced polyester mat. Available in white, black and other granule surface colors, Firestone SBS membranes may be installed by heat welding, hot asphalt, cold-applied adhesive or mechanical attachment.

Firestone APP Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems are available in a variety of thicknesses in smooth and granule surfaces.  Reinforced with a tough, non-woven polyester mat, Firestone APP membranes deliver superior rooftop performance for both new and reroof applications.  Firestone APP membranes may be installed by heat welding or with cold-applied adhesives.
